Oso Atelier is a small studio working with macramé knots and crochet stitches, shaping natural fibers by hand into pieces meant to be lived with.
Two disciplines
Knotting and crochet, side by side
Macramé builds structure from knots that hold their shape. Crochet works soft, flexible fabric from a single looped thread. We practice both, because each shows what the other cannot.
Every piece begins at the workbench with thread in hand. We check tension, adjust the knot, and finish each edge slowly before it leaves the studio.
Materials
Chosen for texture and durability
We select each fiber for how it feels in the hand, how it holds its form, and how quietly it sits in a room.
Unbleached cotton rope
A sturdy, undyed cord with a warm natural tone. It gives macramé knots a firm, well-defined structure.
Natural linen thread
A fine, breathable thread with a soft sheen. We use it for crochet pieces that keep a light, airy drape.
Reclaimed wooden dowels
Smooth, reclaimed wood gives our hanging pieces a quiet base and a grounded finish.
